Ghosts

Ghosts are apparitions of the dead. They can often be seen in works of art as taking on a human form and being misty or transparent. Ghosts can make their presence known either to the naked eye, or through strange sounds, smells, a sudden drop in temperature, lights flickering on and off, or by objects moving on their own.

The term ghost is often thought of as a soul without a body. The soul travels to the underworld or afterlife after death.

What happens to a person after death differs from culture to culture. However, many of the cultures beleive that th soull can return to the living world with good or bad intent.

In the West, Ghosts are souls that cannot move on to the afterlife. They cannot find peace in death or they kn ow they are dead but cannot move on due to unfinished business, they want to deliver advise or information to someone, to protect or stay close to someone or loved ones, or to simply relive their death.

In the East, many believe in reincarnation and ghosts are souls that refuse to be reborn due to unfinished business. Some culures belive that ghosts can become immortal, or they go to hell to suffer eternity. or they can beecome a ghost of a ghost by dying again.

Every culture has superstitions and beliefs on how to deal with these ghosts. Rituals can be done to deal with ghosts with bad intent. Many cultures believe that the ghosts wander around the places they visitd when they were alive, or where they died.
